Chasing Flutterbys...

I'm Celita Kaiulani Johnston: A passionate Jesus Loving Film and Digital photographer, "Would Be" Full-Time traveler (even if only in spirit or via Youtube!), Papercrafter, and Friend. 

I desire to spend my life with a Camera (or two!  Or three!) in my hands. I wasn't born with a photographic eye.  I didn't necessarily have natural talent. I've been self-taught and learning consistently for just over 20 years.  I did run Storybook Memories, a sweet little Boutique Portrait and Wedding studio, for about 5 years. After getting pretty  overwhelmed, I took a break...a 15 year break!  I put my cameras on the shelf and just pursued other creative endeavors and then one day, I felt the urge to pick them back up and I intend to NEVER put them down again!  God willing!  I continue to learn and practice and every day I still learn a little more.  And I have to admit, every wonderful photo that emerges from my camera just still makes me float...and even dance a little if I'm honest.  My images aren't necessarily magazine worthy or Fine Art for Museum walls but what they are are Memories Caught before they have a chance to Flutter By so I and my family can relive them forever.

I, myself, do make portraits for clients and I love EVERY ounce of that service but my real passion is really just taking the Best Photos I can of places I visit and things I see to have in my archive for Scrapbooking or Journaling or framing for my own Gallery Wall.  

My hope with my photos is to just share them with you to inspire you with your own photo taking and image making in order to create your own Arsenal of great Images. Some of these are from waaaaay back in film days (Oh!  And I am shooting Film again!) to contemporary Digital Shots. Click into the Portfolio and Blog Pages and (over time!  As we are just rebranding ourselves with a new logo and just getting going again! Annnnnd, I have like 2 million images to transfer from computer to website!) we'll be building up collections of images of places to go and things to see and off the hook images to shoot; and eventually, we'll have a shopping cart to purchase images as well as samples of papercrafting supplies!  Please Feel free to reach out if you're interested in my Portrait photography services or if you have any questions about any of the images that you see: How I took it, where I took it.  How many ACTUAL tries did I attempt before I got it right? lol
